Education in focus
This year the main focus of our CR strategy is to support and improve education. Through our Voluntary Tutoring Framework, our colleagues - acting as tutors - can help other colleagues, their children (or other relatives) catch up on their daily studies in several subjects (Economics, Mathematics, English, Accounting, Statistics and History). 20 student-tutor teams started to work in spring 2009. Other educational projects include KPMG Open Days for relatives in order to provide them with a closer look at the business and help them to decide on their choice of school and/or career path. Our new voluntary action, "Back to our roots" aims at offering our knowledge and experience to where KPMG people attended secondary school, helping the new generation to put their curriculum into practice and setting a good example by providing vocational guidance to students. We will organise three employee voluntary days in cooperation with an educational institute located in the 13th district. We have devised a broad support programme provided for selected high schools that specialise in economics. Our cooperation includes all kinds of voluntary work and support (lectures, refurbishing, competition, equipment, etc.).
CR Days to promote sustainability
We organize regular CR Days for our employees to promote sustainability and responsible living. Topics of the first event included environmental awareness both at home and in the workplace, responsible management and professional commitment in the improvement of education. The next CR Day will be around diversity.
Club for maternity leave employers
Our new program aims at developing relationship with our colleagues being on maternity leave through various means (to inform them on HR and labour law issues, to update their professional knowledge and to coach them for their return).
